| The history of AURORA, starts in 1875, with the arrival of the imigrants native from the north of Italy. Standing to the Southern part of Barzil,on the mountains, they found similar climate and view, as their native country.
The European cultures and habits weren´t given away: the old art of planting grapes and producing wine was soon retaken.
On the 14th of February, 1931, sixteen families of grape producers, from the town called Bento Gonçalves, on the mountains, got together to release what would become the greatest business on this genre, in Brazil: THE COOPERATIVE “VINÍCOLA AURORA” (AURORA WINE´S INDUSTRY).
One year later, the production was of 317.000 kg of grapes, making this kind of business a great success. Not only the greatest, but also one of the most qualified in therms of technology.
Today, right in the heart of Bento Goçalves, is located the biggest wine´s cooperative from Brazil, with more than 1300 associated families, responsible for the production of 50 millions kg of grapes, wich results 38 millions of liters of wine a year. The stock´s capacity is superior 70.000.000 liters of wine, in 110.000 m2.
To be a leader, for more than 2 decades, its industry is in constant reformulation, its sectors are endowed with high technology, and a strict model of production is observed.
All the production is watched directly by technicians that, daily, are in touch with the producer, giving them all the technical assistance they need. A staff of technicians are responsible for the industrial process and for the final quality of the products. Always with the attention to the development of a state-of-the-art technology. The extremely care from what we plant, to the bottle of the product, has resulted in many awards. |
