| Dieter Firmenich, a graduate of the Silberberg School of Oenology, took over his grandparents' business in 1980. All of the vineyards are green covered throughout the year to protect them from erosion - partly necessary because of the extremely steep slopes. Mineral fertilizers are used when required but otherwise a mulch system provides the nutrients. The vines display double arch cutting and a small proportion is planted in a single wire system. |
